Terms of Use — Mock Interview Copilot

These terms govern your use of the Mock Interview Copilot browser extension and the Mock Interview Copilot desktop app for macOS, Windows and Linux (together, "the extension"), provided by Zapx Labs ("we", "us"). By installing or using either, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use the extension.

1. What the extension is

The extension is an educational tool for interview practice. It transcribes a web meeting you are participating in, detects likely questions, and suggests practice answers based on study material you provide. It is not a substitute for your own preparation, judgement, or professional advice.

2. Acceptable and lawful use

You must only use the extension for mock interviews, practice, and meetings where transcription or recording assistance is permitted.
Recording or transcribing a meeting may require the consent of all participants and may be regulated by law where you live. You are solely responsible for obtaining any required consent and for complying with all applicable laws, including wiretapping, recording-consent, and privacy laws.
You must not use the extension to deceive, defraud, or misrepresent yourself in any setting where doing so is prohibited, including live hiring processes where such assistance is not permitted by the organiser.

3. Bring-your-own API keys

The extension has no server and no subscription. It functions only with third-party AI provider API keys that you supply. Your use of those providers is governed by their own terms and pricing, and you are responsible for any costs you incur with them.

4. No warranty

The extension is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, or non-infringement. Transcriptions and suggested answers may be incomplete or incorrect; do not rely on them as fact.

5. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Zapx Labs will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss arising from your use of or inability to use the extension, including any consequences of recording or transcribing a meeting without appropriate consent.

6. Privacy

Our handling of data is described in our Privacy Policy. In short: no Zapx Labs server receives your data; everything is stored locally in your browser (or, for the desktop app, in the app's data folder on your computer) or sent only to the AI providers you configure.

7. Changes

We may update these terms. Material changes will be reflected by the "Last updated" date above. Continued use after an update constitutes acceptance.
